Aegina Fistiki Fest

Project description

The Aegina Fistiki Fest was initially organized in 2009 and has since developed into the main event in the surrounding island area. The world-renowned Aegina pistachio inspired it, the only Product of Designated Origin (PDO) on the island and whose production had begun to decrease due to rapid residential development.  The main purpose of the festival is to ensure Aegina Pistachio authenticity, to promote good cultivation practices, and the promotion of the Aegina pistachio as a product but also as a raw material for many dishes.

The Aegina Fistiki Fest commercial exhibition is enriched with various visual art and musical events, thus creating the largest commercial and cultural celebration of the Argosaronic Gulf, gathering over 35,000 visitors during the four days of the event.

The various events of the Aegina Fistiki Fest start in mid-August and last until the end of September. Concerts, major art exhibitions often related to the artists who live and work on the island, agricultural seminars, and children’s entertainment are but a few of the events you can experience during this spectacular celebration.
